Topsy Turvy Dolls by Babynut

I used to make these dolls on a treadle sewing machine to sell at craft fairs when my oldest son, Joseph, was a baby 30 years ago! Now these dolls are handmade for Babynut by a local seamstress, Linda, of Keep Me In Stitches. She makes them using the pattern I created. I still grow the herbs for them and paint on their faces.

These dolls are heirloom quality and a unique version of an old-fashioned idea. On one end is Lavender. She has a beautiful dress made from old fashioned fabric, yarn hair, a hand-drawn face and a packet of lavender tucked into her lace-trimmed hat. Scrunch the hat to bring out the scent. Lavender is a soothing herb, helpful in calming a fretful child and supporting peaceful sleep. Flip her over to meet her sister, Rosemary!

On the other end is Rosemary. She has a beautiful dress made from old fashioned fabric, yarn hair, a hand-drawn face and a packet of rosemary tucked into her lace-trimmed hat. Scrunch the hat to bring out the scent. Rosemary is a protective herb for children and an overall tonic.

The dolls are 18-20 inches tall and machine washable (take out the packets of herbs from beneath the hat first!). Choose white skin or brown skin or a white skin/brown skin combo.
